6 weeks. Is it too early to be away for an evening?

My baby will be 6 weeks old. Is it too early to leave the baby with my husband while I go out for dinner with some girlfriends? (I will be about an hour away, and will not be drinking)
EBF, but there has been two occasions that she bottle fed breast milk from freezer (I was in hospital). Apparently she took the bottle well. No nipple confusion afterward. 
Side note: I don’t particularly enjoy spending time with these people anymore, but I feel obligated to accept their invite as I have not participated in any plans with them for at least 6 months. I’m scared they will stop inviting me, and tbh I don’t have a ton of friends to spare atm.

My mom just took my babygirl overnight for mine and hubbys date night, we went out and had some drinks. I still pumped but I tossed the milk that I pumped while I was buzzed. Everything else is fine. You need the getaway! I won’t lie I did cry before I left but once I left I was fine and just went and got her in the morning!

It’s not too early at all. My daughter is a month old today and we’ve left her with my MIL twice now. It was only for about an hour both times and so that we could go grocery shopping without risking our LO getting sick. At 6 weeks we plan on leaving her with MIL for a couple of hours so we can have a date night. We need time for ourselves too. Don’t feel guilty about it.

My mom and in-laws watch my son for a few hours when we need to run errands. It’s been like this since 2 weeks.

I left my girl with her dad for 2 hours at 4 weeks to get a facial that was gifted me. It was hard, but also nice to get a break. My baby can’t be put down and cried nonstop if she is not continuously consoled. She is exhausting!

It isn’t too early at all in my opinion. We need our time too. It’s good to take care of yourself and sometimes that means a night out here and there to feel adult and human. That being said if you would rather not go with those people then don’t. You don’t need to feel obligated to do anything. I literally have one friend besides my husband 😅. I don’t go out with anyone but my husband and family honestly. At 2 weeks pp my aunt and uncle were in from out of town and they were going out with my parents for a night on the town and invited us. We took our kids to my in-laws and went out for a few hours. I felt so guilty but it ended up being so nice. The other weekend we had my in laws come over and watch the kids so we could do a wine tour with my family for my bday and my cousins. And then my parents watched our kids for a few hours while we were out for dinner on my bday. I honestly have no shame. If it wasn’t for our bdays and my family from out of town coming in we wouldn’t have gone out so much. But I am all about continuing my life as close to I can as I did before kids. And don’t take that the wrong way. I mean like we will always continue to do things, we just include our kids. And if we can’t for some reason our parents are always pestering to see the kids. But again it’s good to have date nights and get away from the littles for a bit sometimes. It’s very healthy for your relationship and your well being.

My mother and law actually took my son overnight for me . I mean had massive anxiety and picked him up at 5 am when I woke up 😬 . But I had two drinks and still pumped . My doctor and pediatrician told me that if I feel tipsy than it’s in my breast milk or drunk feeling and to not use that milk but they said two drinks ( I had beer) were fine! Or one glass of wine or a 4 oz mixed drink!

My mom watched my baby for an evening when she was a month old! The only issue I had was some major separation anxiety. It’ll be just fine :)

I went to a wedding at 6 weeks, a few days ago and my mom watched her for several hours. She was fine. I think it’s okay. I didn’t drink either. Pump and dump concept is a waste to me. 🤷🏽‍♀️ I think you should go.
