When do you have discussions like this with your partner?

My boyfriend and I have been together for 7 months so far and things are going great, we’re both 22. Even though we haven’t been together for that long we’re both serious about each other so we talked about the serious things that are usually dealbreakers for people, like kids and marriage. We’re both on the same page, neither of us want kids and we’re not too bothered about marriage which again good points for our relationship I guess 🤷🏼‍♀️ I was talking to 2 of my friends about it the other day and they all thought it was dumb that I brought those things up already when we haven’t even been together a year yet. One of them and her boyfriend have been together for 4 years and the other one has been with her boyfriend for 2 and they both said they haven’t even mentioned these things. Personally I think that’s dumb 🤷🏼‍♀️ what’s the point of being with someone for so long when you don’t know if you two have the same views on such major things that often drift couples apart? Especially 4 years... if my boyfriend wanted to have 3 kids and I didn’t want any and wasn’t willing to compromise then I’d rather find out early in our relationship rather than years later and feel like I wasted so much time on someone for nothing. When do you ladies have the “talk” with your partners?
