Who to tell?

I just found out I am pregnant with my 1st. Did you feel it was safe to announce your pregnancy to immediate family (parents, brothers & sisters) prior to your 8 week doctor apt?

We told our parents and my bffs before 8 weeks. No regrets. If someone bad did happen, I would need their help and support.

I did but I just couldn’t contain my excitement lol it’s really dependent on the person and it’s your personal choice - no right or wrong answer :) I know the concern is “what if something happened” but for me I would tell my parents anyways/super close friends anyways. Congrats!!

I told very few people until I was 12 weeks.

We did but just our immediate family then told friends and extended family at 12 weeks

We told 3 close friends the day we found out and everyone else at 6 weeks. It’s whenever you’re ready.

I was going to wait until I was 8 weeks (after ultrasound). Well ultrasound showed no more heartbeat. I still told my parents after the fact. So  there was no reason why I was waiting bc regardless of the outcome I would want them to know whether I was pregnant or miscarrying for the support

With my son (3 years old) we told everyone... family, friends, announced on fb, literally everyone). With my 2nd, my husband wanted to wait until our 8 week appointment, and I ended up having a miscarriage at 5w5d.. currently 4w4d with baby#2 and we have decided to only tell family and our best friends until after our first appointment

Tell the people that you would want to know if something happened. For me, this includes family and close friends. We live 14 hours away from family but went home for Christmas this past year. I had just found out that I was pregnant (~4-5 weeks). Since we don't get a chance to see family often, we told them for Christmas (my mom, dad, brother, grandmother, his dad, mom, sister, grandparents, aunt, 2 uncles, cousins, etc.). Had mostly positive reactions, and the only "negative" reaction was from my grandmother who said I was already clearly showing (I definitely wasn't at only 5 weeks so she was calling me fat). 
Then when we got back from our trip, I went to the doctor to get it confirmed. I got the confirmation call as I was on the way to hang out with a group of friends so I was late. They're really good friends so I told them and they check up on me multiple times a week to make sure I'm ok and to see if I need anything.
And then I've sporadically told some of my other close friends. My elementary school friend, who lives like 12 hours away from me, randomly texted me when I was 7 weeks asking when she was going to get a niece or nephew and so I told her. So it really depends on who you want to be there for you. I'm now 9 weeks and have 0 regrets telling my friends and family.
