HYPOTHYROIDISM???

Question

Hey ladies, me and my husband have been trying to conceive for a little over a year now. I'm 24 yrs old and well, I went and got a blood work down because I've been having symptoms of which I assumed was diabetes because I'm over 200 pounds and diabetes runs on both sides of my family and kidney failure runs on my mom's. Turns out everything came back normal except for some thyroid issues. Goofed the symptoms and I have them ALL. Which my doctor said can make it harder to conceive. Waiting to get a phone call from a specific specialist in that works in that area to schedule an appointment and also waiting for another appointment next Thursday with an Obgyn. I tried googling some info but, couldn't really find much about conceiving in the process of being treated. Can I hear your stories if you can relate? And please feel free to leave some additional info. (success stories, how long it took to conceive, treatment while TTC etc). Feel free to comment even if not TTC with your experience with this. 
Just don't wanna get my hopes up TTC & wanna get myself prepared if I'm in for a bumpy road!

I have hypothyroidism and it can make it very hard to conceive/carry a pregnancy if you do. My last miscarriage was most likely due to that. I got diagnosed this year and put on Synthroid. Your doctor will probably want to do bloodwork around every 6 weeks until you TSH/T4 get into the right levels. After that my doctor said every 6 months until I get pregnant then it would be more often. 
Once you get your levels into a normal range and you start feeling better, you have an equal change of conceiving as someone without the condition!! The hard part is just waiting until then! Make sure you take your medicine the same time every day and you’ll be good ❤️

I had same issue, as soon as I started taking my medications regularly I got pregnant.. just keep your levels check and take your MEDICATIONS!!!! You will be just fine ! 💙💙💙💙💙

I had hypothyroidism that ended up actually being cancer (I didn't know until years later). It took me and my husband 3 years to conceive our daughter. Thankfully had a healthy pregnancy. After I had my daughter was when they found the cancer and I had surgery and got treatment. I got my thyroid and parathyroid glands removed and it has taken almost 3 years and changing doses to get my levels where they needed to be. If you just have hypothyroidism it SHOULD NOT take that long! They will probably test you every 6 weeks to make sure your levels are where they need to be. If they arent, they will either up your dose or lower it and then test in another 6 weeks. Once you become pregnant you will probably have to be tested once a month (I just saw my endocrinologist a week and a half ago and this is what she told me) for the first 4 months or so and then less once the pregnancy progresses. I take my meds whenever I get up, it doesn't have to be at the same time of day just has to be 30 minutes to an hour before you have any food or drinks (other than the water you take it with).
