Has anyone had success with the Gerber College Fund?

I am reading critiques of the plan, but would like to know if any of you has firsthand knowledge to share.

529 is where it’s at! We are contributing as much as we can for the 1st 4-5 years. Then adding in a few thousand each year. We’re working extra to make this happen, taking on side jobs and what not. 
You can talk to your local financial planner at your bank for help.

You don’t need life insurance on your child. Life insurance is to replace income of the deceased person. It’s completely unnecessary and the Gerber is overpriced anyway. 
Set up a state 529 plan for your kid. It doesn’t even have to be the state you live in unless there’s a good tax advantage. We use New York’s 529 bc of flexibly and high contribution limits.

Don't combine saving with life insurance. Get term life insurance if you need it and and set up a separate savings fund.
