A beautiful message to a working momma
"This beautiful mommy works 12 hour shifts when she works. Well she is scheduled for 12 hours but when you are a registered nurse you almost never get to leave when your shift is over. She has to be to work at 7 but her day starts way earlier than that. She gets up about 5 so she can feed her baby, get showered, pick up what little of the house she can, packs up the breast pump and a small lunch that she will probably never get a chance to eat. Once she gets to the hospital she spends 12 hours taking care of patients and some are not always very nice. Her shift is over at 7 but she doesn’t get home until 8 or 8:30. By time she gets home she is tired, her breast are aching because they are full and she is starving. But the first thing she does is jump in the shower because of all the germs floating around the hospital. Finally after a long day she gets to hold her baby and feed her ignoring the fact that she is hungry herself. Now it’s 9 or after and this beautiful mommy finally gets to eat and lay her head down for a couple of hours before getting back up to feed her baby again. Before she knows it the alarm is going off letting her know it’s time to start the process all over again. This beautiful mommy is the mother of our princess baby. New moms don’t always get the praise they deserve. I don’t ever want you to feel like we don’t see all that you do. You are a wonderful mommy and an amazing nurse. We are so blessed God chose you to be our princess baby’s mom. Thank you for being the mommy you are. We love you and are extremely grateful for you."
I just wanted to share a beautiful message that my mother in law wrote about me today. The sneaky lady, I didn't even notice she snapped the picture. To any other nurse like me who is a new mommy, or any working momma for that matter, remember you are doing a great job! ❤
