Help me

My 6 month old kitten wont STOP screaming the house down. This excessive yowling is driving me nuts!! Its always to get what he wants and he literally screams constant until you pet him. Im trying my best to teach him to stop by petting him when he stops meowing but its completely impossible he just doesnt stopppppp. He refuses to leave the living room and will continue to scream through the gap in the door at all hours of the night and we never get any sleep. I have a baby on the way and this is going to become a HUGE issue. What can i do??😭
