Long read, sorry not sorry😂
First time writing on here in almost 4 years (❗️❗️) so bear with me😂 I’ve been in a private LDR since November. A little backstory on that because I’m so incredibly over the moon still.
So we grew up together, roughly 2 miles apart (I didn’t realize it until our first unintentional booty call and I drove up to see him for the night when I should’ve been at work). We dated when we were in 7th grade but I had to move just under two hours away because my mom remarried and it was best for us to move. Angsty 13 year old me HATED it at the time (and 24 year old me still hates that I had to move so far) but looking back, it was the best. I started at a new school two months after the move and made a 30 second breakup call to the first boy I truly cared about, which broke my heart more than he even knows. I remained friends with our mutual friends (growing up so close together, it’s hard not to have the same friends) but honestly never made the effort to reconnect with him because I doubted he wanted to hear from the girl who broke his heart. Boy was I wrong.
He joined the Facebook world in 2012 and we’ve been off and on each other’s profiles from 2012-2017 when he finally added me for the last time and I’m thankful he did. In the past decade of missed time, I went to college for a year (coincidentally the same time his sister went to the same college), lost my grandma, got pregnant, got married and got divorced; he joined and left the military, got married and was told his ex would file for a divorce if he sent her the money to do so (big red flag but he did it anyway) only to find out that she never filed for their divorce.
We started talking consistently on the same day I made the breakup phone call thanks to the squirrel wallet meme on Facebook (I live 3 houses down from a taxidermist and it freaked him out by some of the stuff I shared) and we’ve been seeing each other every other weekend since my birthday (end of August) and we have 16 days before he can get his divorce papers notarized and another 15 months before we close the distance for good. My heart is so happy I’ve had him back in my life, I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us❤️
Our immediate families know we’re a thing and will be more public about it after his divorce is finally over (it’s been a long process) and he’ll get to meet my daughter when he shows he’s in for the long haul, which is gonna be a while.
