Guys I had a baby shower gown made and...

I am sharing so that anyone else who is in the same boat can!!!

I am a pretty small girl still. I haven’t gained much, and I’m all belly. That being said I’m wearing all my normal Smalls still cause I mainly wear flowy long shirts or dresses with leggings and or tight midis to work. So everything fits like normal.

However for my shower I wanted a nicer long dress and I just had no idea with materials how they’d stretch or what size to order? And nothin I found was what I pictured my self in....

Anyways, this entire shower planning I’ve bought EVERYTHING hand made on Etsy. From the acrylic welcome sign to the paper game print outs.

And for whatever reason I thought, I should see if I can find someone to make a dress?

I know designers here in Chicago where I live, and they quoted me $700 to make a dress like I pictured....... HELL NO.

I found someone on Etsy in Cali (such a nice lady)

The dress ended up being $200 custom made (mind you it’s detailed, intricate, and I made her start over completely from scratch with new colors in between!) it was quoted originally less , but she charged for new fabric cut etc.

However if you’re going for simple and want someone who can make your specific measurements, and a dress that’s beautiful but comfortable, def reach out!!! Some of her prom dresses and bridesmaids are around $100! Which to me is so worth it because some of these maternity gowns are $200+ ive found. And to pay that much for something you don’t even LOVE or not what you pictured, doesn’t make much sense.

Here’s what I showed her I wanted (with slight differences, I didn’t want a straight cut across of fabric under my boobs)

I said this type of dress , with a pearl draping like this dress, behind!

And here’s my dress! (She also made it a bit bigger since its not for 4 weeks still! And said I can take it in to the cleaners to be taken in the week of Incase it’s still a bit loose on top!)
