From purées to solids
I’ve been giving my daughter pretty much purées and as of a week and a half ago I started with puffs, yogis, some chunkier purées, etc. she just turned 9 months and my doctor was appalled that I wasn’t feeding her 3 meals a day of real food. I’ve also been nervous cause she goes to a daycare and didn’t want her choking if not paid 100% attention to ( sorry first time mom) so I wanted to practice at night and on weekends and gradually build up. With that said - my doctor said just start giving her everything in small pieces.
So far - I’ve given her veggies and chicken from soup. The veggies went down much easier.
Some pieces of chop meat- had to wash some down with water
Mac n cheese- took forever to get down
Raspberries - went down the easiest
So basically is it normal it’s hard for her to get it down at first? Do I need to keep practicing? Or should I casually build up with chunkier stuff?
She is definitely into feeding herself and eating. I just feel like such a bad mom I haven’t started this sooner and didn’t expect her to take so long to get it down.
