Increased movement 34 weeks?

The last few days, my baby has been moving more than usual, mostly at night. Sometimes it goes on for hours until I fall asleep. His movements during this time also tend to be a little painful, mainly bc he jabs fast or bc it feels like he is reallyyy stretching my stomach when he moves. These movements are also more like him pushing out my stomach with his butt or back, moving those, or moving a limb. It was going on so long tonight I was thinking about calling the doctor. Is this normal? Can anyone relate?
