So we found out about a month and a half ago that my dad has stage 4 lung cancer. He has never even smoked a day in his life. I’m completely distraught. He’s only 47 years old, and him and my mom have been married 22 years. They still have 4 kids at home, 6 total. The kids at home are 8, 10, 14, and 18. The cancer is in both lungs, had spread to his brain, hips, pelvis, and lymph nodes. Has anyone’s family member or anyone personally gone through something similar and has been in remission for a while? My dad is my rock, my best friend, I have been a daddy’s girl since day one. His nickname for me is ‘snuggle bunny’. I love him so much and all I can think about is how he won’t be here anymore. I won’t be able to just pick up the phone and call him, and I won’t be able to tell my son, “we’re going to nana and papas house!” It’ll just be nanas house. 💔 it devastated me that my son won’t even remember him because he’s only 15 months old, but they’re so close and absolutely adore each other. I never thought this is where we would be at this point in our lives. 2020 looks to be the hardest year yet.
