6 weeks and positive for group b strep. Should I be worried?

Dont worry. They just give you and baby antibiotics during and after delivery.

Nope don't be worried. They found it in my urine at 8 weeks. They gave me antibiotics for it and they said they'll just assume I'm gbs positive for this pregnancy and give me more antibiotics before delivering me so they won't swab me later when they were supposed to. It's very rare that a baby gets sick by gbs after delivery, even if you don't get antibiotics for it.

When found in your urine it.means you have a lot of it in your system and will be considered group b strep positive your whole pregnancy. When they swab for it it is only considered accurate for max 5 weeks. You just get IV antibiotics to protect baby before delivery. It is normal to have it.

You don't get swabbed for that until the 3rd trimester. No way you got it done that early. If you're positive though, they just give you antibiotics during delivery
