Is it more painful if you’re induced?

Hi, Mamas! 
FTM and I’m being induced tomorrow night at 38 weeks 2 days. I’ve had a couple friends tell me being induced is worse, and then the nurse that does my NST kind of hinted that it’s more difficult to do without an epidural when you’re induced. 
My boss’ friend has been an OB for 20 years and led me to believe the same thing when he said that they’re gonna give medicine that “makes you contract, and makes you contract HARD”. Maybe I was reading between the lines a little too much when he said that, but I figured maybe he was implying that it is more painful with being induced. He’s trying to advise that I do it with the epidural. I’m open to getting meds if I reach a point where I can’t handle it anymore. 
I’m just curious if any of y’all have had babies with and without being induced, and noticed any difference pain wise?

I have 2 kids , first one natural and second one induced. Pain is the same girl, it's all mental at the end of the day..  I am on my 3rd and going on 39 weeks. You can do it just prepare yourself mentally . Both kids I had no epidural, been on both sides people told me the same thing that getting induced hurts more but it was the same thing 🙏 good luck !!

I’ve had both induction with Pitocin & natural- pain is the exact same. Natural birth had back-to-back contractions the same as pitocin did. With inductions I had time for pain meds before 10cm- and natural I did not... so, I have to vote natural hurt worse (but that’s feeling pushing & ring of fire versus being numb for that).

I was induced with my son and yes contractions are horrible but you won’t know the difference because you’ve never had contractions without being induced☺️ it is painful but I had a wonderful labor and delivery with him! I did get the epidural but I’m 100% sure I would of gotten it either way, I’m a wuss.

With my first my water broke and I never progressed my own and was “induced” with pitocin and I have to say I had a very easy labor until the last 45 minutes. I barely dilated past a 5 tho until then 😂. I literally could have slept through the rest of my labor with the epidural on board but adrenaline happened lol. I’m being induced tomorrow night and I’m nervous because idk what to expect either.

Pitocin is no joke. If I need it this time going to ask for the epidural at the same time. I thought I could do an epuduarl free birth the first time but the pitocin causes intense contractions very close together with no break to catch your breath before the next one starts

Why are you being induced ? Can make a difference.  If you have preeclampsia they put you on a magnesium drip with a catheter and you can’t get out of bed during the induction. It makes you feel like you have the flu. The Pitocin does give you contractions but can’t say if that is worse than regular contractions or not.

Pitocin just makes the contractions come quicker and doesn’t really your body the time to work up to the contractions and get used to them gradually. That’s why they seem to hurt more.
