What part in Florida safe to live

And floods that dont happen quickly

Wouldn’t recommend Miami or anywhere south of it.

I live in Central Florida. Being in the center of the state, we are away from the coast so we don’t get hit as hard for hurricanes. Can we still get hit? Absolutely. We were hit by Irma and it was scary but nothing like the coast got. 
I lived in southeast Florida for about 15 years. We definitely would get hit harder and more of a flood threat. 
Everywhere you live though, you’ll have some type of weather event to deal with. We went about 10 years without the state getting hit at all.

I live in Central Florida as well. An hour from tampa and an hour from orlando. Its nice to be that close to attractions while also away from the hustle and bustles of the city/tourist. You’re far enough inland that most weather events don’t effect you or calm down by the time it makes its way past you.

Yes my children and I are moving to Florida I just dont want to move where alot of crime happen and alots of flooding. I have 5girls and 1 boy all under 11 so I like to be closer to alot of activities also.

The western side of Florida gets less storms. Tampa is nice.

I’m from Vero beach which is in the Atlantic coast and we never flooded and rarely had hurricanes hit us. I’m not sure how safe it is anymore as far as crime though I moved to Ohio about 15 years ago
