Clomid 100mg

I start my first round of clomid on Saturday, starting 100mg a day, is this a little agressive for my first round?? Shouldn't I start at 50mg? I am 35yrs old, TTC#2, per my opks i ovulate, and have regular periods every month, just wondering why my doc put me on such high dose right away, am I just paranoid, please share your first round experience with me... I am just scared about all i have read about the side effects, and assume the higher the dose the worse it will be...
