Toxic shock and tampons

This is based of what I’ve read and videos I watched but go ahead and correct me if I’m wrong-

Toxic shock syndrome is not directly caused by tampons or anything in the tampon. If it was then tampons wouldn’t be products. TSS is caused by toxins from bacteria build up that eventually releases toxins but not because the tampon its self. However, Chances of TSS can be raised by wearing tampons because they absorb all the moisture in your vagina and obviously the blood, giving the bacteria a place to hangout. After the first tampon or two your vagina is usually really dry which can cause minor cuts or micro tears and if bacteria (usually Staph) enters that is what would cause TSS. You would have to leave the tampon in for a Really really long time for the bacteria to become toxic. The boxes say only leave them in for few hours or less to be precautionary but in reality having one in for even longer isn’t suddenly putting you at high risk, the companies just want to make sure they can’t be blamed.

I notice a lot of women or younger women here avoid tampons because this fear so I hope this cleared something up for at least one Person.
