New to opks...

So I know this is a negative result but how can you tell when you are getting CLOSE to your surge?! Can you tell by the line maybe how soon it would be? I have somewhat irregular cycles. (Anywhere from 24-33 days) today I took this one I’m cycle day 11. Since I’m irregular I didn’t know when to start either.
