Is induction more painful?

So my January baby is now a February baby with induction being scheduled for this week. He’s currently still high and back to back... is induction more painful than a natural labour? My first child was back to back also but we didn’t know this until labour and I was induced via a drip at 3cm as my waters had broke and I wasn’t progressing. Just wondering if induction from the beginning is much more painful, thinking the worst this time :(

Honestly I think I had the same level of pain (from what I can recall) and I was induced with my first and went into labor naturally with my second. I personally think it totally depends on your level of pain tolerance. I will say that regardless of how your labor happens, it's a game of mental endurance. I literally told myself out loud "I can do this" and concentrated on my breathing and, later, my pushing. You got this!

I suppose it depends on how they induce you. My understanding is that pitocin can cause more forceful contractions, which might be more painful than med-free contractions. 
I was induced with cervidil with both of my babies and I don't think it was more painful than if I had gone into labor spontaneously. But I don't have experience with any other methods of induction.

I think it really depends. Every one is different . a friend of mine who has a high pain tolerance told me being induced hurts worst and I had my sister in law who cries when she gets tattoos tell me her induction was smooth and not more painful then her other labor

I had a very smooth induction. I came in only 2.5cm dilated. They inserted cervidil first, which was the only uncomfortable part when they put it in. In a few hours I was 3 cm. My water then broke right before it was time to remove the cervidil. Immediately after I was 5 cm and they waited to give me the pitocin to see if I would dilate anymore on my own. Few hours later still at 5 cm, they gave me the pitocin through IV and few hours later I gave birth to a healthy little boy with no complications at all. I didnt experience any type of pain or discomfort during this process, however I did throw up a few times due to the pitocin but that was all.

It only feels more painful because the meds they give you cause more efficient contractions than what most experience on their own. I’ll be praying yours goes quick and easy. Good luck! 💚
