Is it safe to sleep after your water broke, if you haven't had any contractions?

Yeah at the hospital. Because when your water breaks you need to go to the hospital. It can only be broken for so long before there’s a risk of infection and if you’re not having contractions they’ll want to give you something to get them started.

My water broke. I had no contractions. Nurses told me to hang out at home. I said no way being a FTM. I demanded my husband take me right then. I’m glad I went, we had my daughter an hour later. I would have gave birth at home if I waited.

My water broke at 5 am. I was checked in by 6. I started with a fever at 1pm. So all it took was 8 hours with my water broken. They started antibiotics and pitocin. Dont wait at home after your water breaks.

It depends. Sometimes your hospital/midwife will tell you to wait for contractions and sometimes they have you come in.

My midwife would recommend i get sleep. We are told to wait upto 12h at home dor contractions because its more comfortable. At 12h you go in to get induced

My waters broke at 3am and I called labour and delivery but they told me not to come in to be checked until ‘a reasonable hour’. 
I couldn’t sleep at that point but I certainly could have if I wanted to. 
After being checked at the hospital I was told I could go home and come back when contractions got closer etc. which I did. Problem is, it didn’t take long and I went from 3cm (at hospital) to 10cm (at home) in a matter of hours and nearly didn’t make it back! 😬
