New Nursery Furniture
I put together the new wooden dresser I got for the nursery last week, and I noticed the drawers stink inside. The manufacturers painted the inside of the drawers with some sort of clear lacquer, and the chemical smell will not dissipate. I’ve kept the drawers open to air out for almost a week now and left the bedroom window open every day. Nothing is working. I’m 32 weeks and becoming anxious to get things organized and put away, but I’d hate to wash all the baby clothing, put them in the drawers, and then have them soak up the strong chemical smell. It makes me wonder why the heck a baby furniture company would make their pieces with such strong smelling chemicals...my brand new adult dresser didn’t even have a smell like that.
Has this happened to anyone? Does anyone have pointers on how to get rid of that smell?
