I’ve never heard that. We had the full nursery, crib included, set up weeks before I had her.

No, but if you’re worried then I don’t see the issue with waiting. If you’re using a bassinet then you have at least a couple of months before you’ll need the crib. We set our crib up when I was 38 weeks, but didn’t use it until my son was around 8 weeks old.
