Going for a stretch and sweep at 40+4 - was it successful for you?

Please tell me your experiences-was it painful? How long after did you go into labour? Was baby engaged before you had it done?

I was 6 days over, 3cm and my cervix was half way there. She could feel my waters and babys head, didn't hurt - a little uncomfortable if that. 
That was 4pm, she accidently broke my back waters though. 
4 am and lost my mucus plug/had a show. 
10:30 that morning my contractions started and she was born by 12:26.
She is my second baby.

Sweeps are never successful for me; they give me contractions for a while, but then stop. I’m always 1-3 cm dilated too.
I find them painful, but I also have a low pain tolerance. However, I learned a cool trick from some other moms. While getting stripped, wiggle your toes! It works like a charm. :)

I had one at 40w6d and I went in labor within 5hours. If it dont work in 24 hrs then it wont unless you get another one done. .

I was 3 cm dilated and 90% effaced when I had it done at 41 weeks
I lost my mucus plug 10 hours after getting it done 
But I still had to get induced a few days later. So it didn’t do anything for me
