I guess it depends! I will ask my hubby if he remembered to take the trash out and he will say "noooo, of course I didnt forget" then run inside and take the trash out when he gets home lol but of course I also know when he clearly didnt because he forgot! 
But if he was actively lying about where he was, even though it wouldnt be a big deal. Or if he was texting a coworker and saying it was his mom. Or asking if he went and ate somewhere and tried to actively hide that he did. I would be mad. It's always the seamlessly simple things that they lie about that tend to add up to be something else.
