Cot or bassinet?

So our bub is 2 weeks old and was supposed to be in the bassinet. However he has been co sleeping with us due to being too attached. We are trying to think of opinions on how to break this pattern. But still make him feel safe and loved so we have moved the cot into our room and right up against our bed as his mattress is the same height as ours. We just wanted some advice on others who have done something similar? ☺️🙌🏼

You’re doing it right. A co-sleeping crib or bassinet is perfect as baby feels close but is still in their own space.

A 2 week old is not "too attached". They grew inside of you hearing every function of your body for 9 months. You can get a co-sleeper that goes in your bed and prevents you from rolling onto your baby. That is beneficial and safe.

My partner used to sleep put his hand on our babies chest after we laid him in his bassinet that was attached to our bed.
He was always swaddled tight, we switched to a love to dream , swaddle to make it easier for us.

Good luck I tried a crib up to my bed a bassinet and an in bed cosleeper. None worked. She has to be attached to us
