Sleep/schedule advice
Looking for some advice as we are really trying to focus on our little guys (8 months) schedule and sleeping. After months of being sick and no schedule at daycare - I’ve pulled him out of daycare and he is feeling better so I’m working on his sleeping and schedule as we prepare for a sitter/nanny 4 days per week.
I’ve just started interval sleep training (on day 3) but I’m not sure what to do about bedtime as his naps are all over the place. I’ve been working off his wake windows rather than a set schedule. He wakes between 630 and 745 each day and then takes first nap about 2.5 hours after wake and then second nap about 3.5 hours after that. I usually then do bedtime around 4-4.5 hours after the last nap. Naps are so inconsistent and duration varies by a lot. So bedtime ends up being anywhere between 645 and 830pm.
Should I stop focusing on wake windows and stick with a schedule/set times? He’s always been a bad sleeper (my fault - we used every prop there is) and I want so badly for him to figure out sleep. I know he’ll be a happier baby in the end but I’m struggling with the best way to go about it. I hate hearing him cry 😭
