I’m 38 and I get that but I’m not dilated or effaced at all. My baby is super low already though, the doctor said he can feel the head pressing behind my cervix.

I don’t think it means you are dilating but it means you are getting closer! Baby is getting into position. Could still be a few weeks of course, but your body is getting ready little by little.
