Hospitalized
My little boy is going on his 3rd day in the hospital due to RSV with Bronchiolitis. It’s been really terrible; at one point he was on 4 liters of oxygen and had a respiratory rate in the 80s. The rapid response team was called and they debated transferring him to the PICU.
We’re starting to see small improvements. It worries me though that his medical team seems surprised that he has had it so severe at almost 6 months old with no other medical history and not being premature.
I work in healthcare and know how much muscle atrophy occurs from being in a hospital bed all day, so I’m wondering how he’ll be with milestones once we finally break out of here.
Anyone else’s little one been hospitalized for RSV or something else? Definitely an experience I was not prepared for and would not wish on anyone.
