HSV Risk?

So my guy had an HSV1 outbreak on his lip and we didn’t kiss.. but had unprotected sex vaginally. He states he doesn’t have HSV2 and there were no open or visible sores (coinciding with his statement) but I’m kind of ignorant on this.. am I still at risk for infection?
*he didn’t go down on me either

Just because you get cold sores does not mean you have genital herpes. If his lips didn't go anywhere near your goods it's fine.

No. There has to be skin to skin contact in infected areas

If I was you I would still get checked out possibly could get infected even if sores are not visible it’s still on his immune system
