What Thermometer are you using?

Can we use an ear one for a 6m old? 
  I can’t figure out if the thermometer I have is giving an accurate reading

I start with an ear one, but if it gives a high temp I will confirm with rectal. If baby feels really warm and the ear temp says normal I will sometimes check rectally as well.

I just took my baby to the pediatrician yesterday and he is almost 6 months. She said he was big enough to get his temp taken by ear now. He's 17 lbs!

I have a forehead/ear one but if I’m concerned and want a really accurate temp I’ll take it rectally.
