Did you guys go through this in your school years?

In my HS years the guy teachers wouldn’t care but the girl teachers would be the ones to say No or you should’ve went during passing which would be 5 minutes and my HS was huge so I had to race from one side to the other.

Yeah I disagree with this completely. When I was in school my mother told me if any teacher refused to allow me to go to the bathroom to just go anyway. And I did many times. 
I was just discussing with my fiancé we will be telling our children the same thing.

If it’s a bad time, like I’m going to explain directions, I ask them if they can wait a few minutes. If a student is already out, I tell them to wait until that one returns. Amazing how many say okay and then never leave or ask again. The ones who do ask a second time before the time I gave them or who say it’s an emergency, I let go right away. I rarely tell a kid a flat out no unless I know they don’t actually have to pee and are looking to get out of class or who I watched stand at their locker playing with the door for most of passing time.

I always tell my students how long until there is a good time to go in the lesson and let them decide if they want to wait or if they want to go right away. Most wait but I've had a few go. I like giving them the option to make their own choices.

OKAY SOOOOO this probably won’t get any attention but imma say it anyway.
I’m in college to become a high school teacher and am almost finished with my degree.
This semester I am taking a course on preventing and caring for athletic injuries since it satisfies a proficiency requirement (I’m teaching science, not P.E. So it was literally just a random class for me to take). 
Today we had a lesson environmental factors and athletes. So you know, how to prevent and treat heat illnesses and frostbite, don’t go practice sports outside when lightning’s close. Common sense stuff. 
Well my professor realizes that I am her only student who plans on teaching, so she tries to talk about things besides athletes and athletic injuries so that it’ll stick with me easier (bless this woman she’s a saint!). 
And she told us that you can DIE from holding in urine. 
I’ve never heard of this.
But she said something happened like a couple years ago where a girl chugged some kind of drink (like soda or Gatorade). Well, she told her teacher that she needed to go to the restroom and the teacher told her no and to wait until after class. Well some time passes and this girl is BEGGING her teacher to let her go and the teacher says no and that she’ll give detention if the girl keeps interrupting class. 
Well this girl passes out and the teacher doesn’t notice until class ends. 
THIS GIRL DIED BECAUSE SHE WAS “NOT ALLOWED” TO GO TO THE RESTROOM! YOU CAN DIE FROM NOT BEING ABLE TO RELIEVE YOUR BLADDER AND/OR BOWEL. 
I know some students ask to go to the restroom just to skip class. And essentially that ruins it for everyone because if the principal or a superior catches them, it falls back on the teacher. Which is stupid, especially if the students are young adults. 
I say this now and I hope to stick to it: my students will be free to go to the restroom whenever they need to, and will just sign out. No need to ask, just quietly get up, sign out, and sign back in when they come back. If for some reason they’re gone for a lengthy amount of time, I will go check on them or have another student check on them. I refuse to have students who are uncomfortable because they need to use the restroom. If they are uncomfortable, then they will not focus on the lesson. I will not put my students even at the slightest risk of being uncomfortable or dying because of a lesson.

My mom always told me if I had to go and a teacher wouldn't let me to just walk out and go, she said "Let them call me because my child walked out of a classroom for having to use the bathroom"

Yes! At one point they took away everyone’s rights to the bathroom during class and break. We were only allowed at lunch because a couple idiots kept clogging the sinks. So yeah we weren’t allowed at all but I just went anyways. It’s a right. Not a privilege and my period always came in suddenly so I’d have to go right away
