Pounding heart???

Question

I’m 34+2 and I went to the bathroom and laid back down after eating a small snack and now I can feel my heart pounding in my chest is that normal? I haven’t felt it do this during my pregnancy

I get it all the time. I have low bp, which of course can cause an increased HR. In one of my medical classes, they explained that with high bp, your HR is slower than it is with low BP. This is bc when your heart is beating faster, it cant adequately fill with blood, causing low bp. When your bp drops, it causes so many symptoms. So not necessarily a high hr alone, but the dizziness, nausea, fainting, fatigue, etc can all cause you to get anxious, causing an increased hr as well. Most ppl dont have a low bp causing the high hr directly; it's usually bc of your body reacting to other symptoms your low bp is causing.

I felt this and turns out it was because of elevated blood pressure. Might want to mention it to doc.
