Did any of you moms wait it out before

Question

going to the hospital ? let's say you were having contractions but waited as much as you could handle then went into the hospital ? I keep telling my husband I want to wait until the contractions are almost unbearable he says I probably won't even be able to walk by then. For those of you that did wait it out , what did you do to pass time ?

That was my plan with my first. I wanted to go in when I just couldn't handle the contractions so I wouldn't have to stay long even though we never know how long labor will be.  I started having contractions a day and a half before I went to the hospital, they would hurt but were still bearable.  My doctor had told me to come in when they contractions weren't bearable but since it was my first baby I had no idea how contractions felt. Well to the point, my husband called his mother and she told him to stop by her house and pick her up so we can get me checked up. I didn't think we were gonna stay so I went but I was crying because I was mad that she was inviting herself. I was 4 cm when I got there and got admitted at 12 am I had my baby at 7:45 that same day. With this second baby I'm going to wait it out more and my MIL is definatley not welcomed! She made my hospital stay so stressful 😒

I would love to do this but I have a friend who waited it out because SHE thought she thought she was in labor but really was losing her baby and she waited for hours and when she finally went to the hospital get baby wad dead but if she had went in the beginning and she would have saved the baby. So I don't plan on waiting at all as soon as I feel labor coming I'm headed to the hospital

I was induced for #1. But I will probably go right away with #2 if it happens on its own. I rather have the baby's heart rate be monitored in case of distress. And you can still walk around plenty at the hospitalsd long as you don't have an epidural. In fact that is what they want you to do...move around.

I went into labor around 11pm with my first when I was 18 years old. I couldn't sleep and the only thing that helped was walking up and down stairs. I walked those stairs all night long and went to the hospital about 6am. She still didn't come until around 1pm. I was home alone and had to call a friend for a ride and didn't want to worry anyone in the middle of the night, I don't recommend doing stairs all night but see no problems with waiting as long as you think you can handle it!

I had contractions all day starting at 10am. I didn't go to the hospital until 10 pm when they got stronger. You don't want to wait too long but you don't want to go too early. Just time yourself. Make sure you're packed and prepared.

I'm going to my midwife's/friend's house then going to the hospital when she says to go.

I waited at home as long as I could from 9am until 7pm I was just walking back n fourth around the house thinking maybe that would make it go faster taking warm showers and when I finally went to the hospital and hour later my daughter was here..I rather try and stay at home as long as I can then in a bed for hours at the hospital

With my first my labor started on a Tuesday but the contractions were irregular until Thursday when they started becoming more intense and time-able at exactly midnight Thursday night/ Friday morning my water started leaking and finally at 9am Friday morning I went to the hospital they checked me and I was dilated to a 4 my contractions became irregular again and I wasn't dilating fast enough so at 3pm they started the pitocen drip and I started pushing while my midwife stretched me finally at 6:23pm on 6/13/14 my son was born, definitely going to stay at home as long as I can with baby #2 and most definitely going to eat before going! lol

I stayed at home with my now 13 yr old talking to my husband and brother until my contractions were 2 minutes apart for almost  half an hour. They weren't painful so I didn't rush. When I got to the hospital they said the only thing that kept her from coming was my water sac was bulging refusing to bust. After the broke it and was born within an hour of getting there.

I sure did! I made sure I ate also!!! When I couldn't take it anymore I had my ride take me! It has varied the last 3x who knows what will happen this time!!!
