Baby shower?

So I’m having another boy so don’t need much. Wondering what your thoughts are on when to do the shower. I’m getting induced a week early on the 6th of March instead of the 13th, but he can come anytime...help 😩😩😩 if I do it before I’d have to have it in two weeks

I think the whole shower thing is different for different families - where I’m from, you would NOT have another shower especially if you’re having the same gender. I definitely think it’s different if their ages are quite far apart... otherwise, maybe go for a “baby sprinkle” or a “diaper party”. I hate these etiquette rules 😩 I’m 35 weeks with boy #2... and I could certainly use the help with some essentials, but you know how people can be when set in their ways😩🙃

My Mom asked me pretty much the same thing a little over a week ago. I chose to do it before this is my second, my first was a girl and this one is a little boy, I have all the big stuff. I was nervous on how exhausted I’d be and how getting two kids ready for something shortly after my Csection would go. So I will be 37 weeks and 5 days at the shower with a scheduled c section at 39 weeks exactly.

My suggestion would be to have a lil get together sometime at the end of next week. If they can be there then great, if not then sorry! I wouldn’t worry about a bunch of planning. Do it around 2, people should have eaten a meal already... just pick up some bottled water and little finger snacks like cookies, pretzels, candy just for example. If they ask what you need and you don’t have any idea then say diapers, wipes, or a gift card. 
With my first boy I had to have one of my baby showers after he was born because he surprised us early... it was nice that people got to see the baby and all but it was kind of a lot to handle and I was soooo soooo tired. 
Also, if you for some reason plan it and then change your mind or can’t do it then just cancel it and reschedule. I think ultimately it will be fine no matter how you decide to do it!
