I had went in for reduced movements and found out my blood pressure was rising each time they checked it. They had told me i was not allowed to go home because of it so they told me they would start the induction that night. I was very upset and in tears as i wasn’t ready! bare in mind i’m 17, first baby, First stay in hospital, First time doing things without my mum by my side. I was allowed for my boyfriend to stay with me for the whole process. We got into the labour ward at 1:30am.. My mum has gone and was going to bring our bags in the morning. They inserted a tablet at 2am and i was already 1cm dilated.. At around 7pm the next day i was only 2cm but the midwife broke my waters as she could feel his head easily, My mum was with me and i instantly started contracting 5 minutes after she broke them. They monitored him for 10 minutes and got me into delivery room by 8ish. My mum and boyfriend came with me and was allowed to stay with me until i gave birth, I got into the room and was told everything, met the doctors and my midwife and a trainee midwife who was legit amazing. She started the hormone drip and only had to do 4. I was contracting already and managed to ignore them! I was honestly in pain but never cried i just ignored them and used gas and air. I could talk through them and still smile. At 11:00pm i had a lot of pressure like i needed a poo and the doctor didn’t think i was dilated enough so told me i wasn’t able to push yet. The midwife then checked me at 11:10pm and was shocked to say i was already 10cm! i instantly started pushing as his heart rate was dipping and i wasn’t about to loose any chance of holding him in my arms. I pushed each time i was told to and never hesitated.. I wasn’t expecting it to feel the way it did but oh my life please do not expect it to only feel like period cramps!!I pushed about 6 times and he shot out! hands flying everywhere and everything. he was delivered onto me and was so calm! no crying or anything. He weighed 6 pound 15ozs and is 42 inches. I needed 9 stitches because how fast he came out. They instantly started to stitch there up after 5 minutes and i was given gas and air. It was so painful i was honestly wondering when the pain was gonna end. After all that i had a hot bath around 4am my mum and boyfriend was told they need to go home. I was ok as i was with the baby but was so scared as i honestly didn’t know much about the care of baby. At 5:00am i was tucked in ( yes the midwife put me in bed and tucked the blanket around me ) and the doctor came to check the baby over. I didn’t go to sleep until after an hour because i was scared he was going to start crying and people would think i’m doing something to him so i waited. Then i got to go home the same day!!!
