I'm not sure if I should go to the doctor or not and I'm in need of some advice. Me and my partner had anal sex last night and it ended up being quite painful for me. I tried to just deal but it got too much so we stopped.

This morning I noticed my butthole was still really sore. I managed to poo fine and there's no blood, so I know there are no tears but it feels very swollen and itchy/irritated.

Should I leave it a few days and see if it goes down? Will it even possibly go down? Or should I just get it checked? I don't really want to deal with the embarrassment of it all.

I can't even tell my partner because he feels really guilty about us having anal sex in the first place.
