My first. It was horrible and I have blocked most of it out. 
My second was lovely and filled with many precious wonderful memories. 
Really depends on the pregnancy, how labour goes and the general temperament of the baby.

I started cervidil at 8pm on 3/29. They did it twice. At 5am they started Pitocin. I went from a 3-6cm from 5am-10:30am. I asked for the epidural around 9. I was crying and shaking by the time the anesthesiologist got into my room. I labored (5-10cm) with heavy epidurals and interventions from 5am until 8:25pm. My son wouldn’t turn and he was stuck sideways and head down in my pelvis. His heart rate kept going down and they did an emergency c section. He was born at 8:25pm. He was almost 9lbs and the cord was around his neck twice. 
Overall- it was horrible but as soon as I held my baby i would’ve done it a million times. 
Thr first two weeks is exhausting but bliss for us.
