I started taking tests the day after my period ended. Should the test lines be getting darker leading up to my ovulation? Because mine seem to be getting lighter 😔

No, for sume it is white up until positive, for some it goes up and down. Everyone is different.

they should get darker around cd12-15 depending on how long your normal cycle is. You may have an LH surge around your period which causes the dark-ish tests early on. Don't stress they'll get dark again close to ovulation.
