Thoughts?
So I just saw this article. Pretty much Shannon, a blogger and mother of 6, has a newborn and she called 911 in the middle of the night because her milk dried up. She had no other way of feeding her baby, so she asked for police to deliver formula to her. They did + brought her a gallon of milk as well.
I’m a first time mom and understand how tough it is, she did what she had to do, but I can’t help but think that this is a little irresponsible. She claimed that her milk dried up in the middle of the night but, drying breastmilk is gradual, it doesn’t happen overnight. Plus she didn’t have formula... I had one tin of backup just in case breastfeeding didn’t work out for me.
Also, I feel like if this was someone else in a more urban neighborhood, cops would not care.
