Tips for taking a baby to the beach?

Our girl will be 8 months old when we go to the beach. Any tips or items that will make it easier?

Talk free baby powder or corn starch rubbed onto the skin before playing in the sand and again before you leave helps get all that sand off :) 
I have one of these and it’s an absolute godsend for keeping baby out of the sun and also if you have a sand eater 😬

Watch for signs of overstimulation and leave if you have to.  Sun, wind, waves, people, sand - all the senses get very stimulated at the beach so what might seem calming for you could end up overwhelming for baby. 
Use clothing with uv protection to minimize how much sunblock you have to use

Bringing shade and a small inflatable baby pool for her to play in without the sand was helpful for us, at that age the hands full of sand straight to the mouth is real 😆 and sunscreen of course
