D&C what to expect?

Have you ever had a D&C? I’m going for one tomorrow and I have no idea what to expect in terms of process, recovery and bleeding. Any knowledge will help. Thank you 💕

I’m so sorry you are going through this.
For me I experienced bleeding for around 4 weeks after I was told this was normal and that you may get bleeding for up to 6 weeks.
I got myself some nice new slippers and dressing gown ready to go to theatre.
They may give you medication beforehand either orally or vagina this is called misoprostal. They gave it me vaginally pre op as it helps the uterine lining to shed. This can and did cause me to experience cramps. I wasn’t in theatre long less than an hour. I was then transferred to a ward and as long as you’re eating and drinking, passing urine fine you should be discharged the same day. Take regular paracetamol and ibruprofen the next day.
