How long Did it take you to get your period back?

I got pregnant in 2017 and since then I have not gotten my period Because after I had my son I got on birth control. I was on the depot shot but I wasn’t always consistent on it especially the first year. Well I got my last shot in September and since January I have been having period cramps that hurt like hell but I have not gotten my period yet. I’m so scared I’m just gonna get it randomly because I already felt like that gushing feeling and it was nothing I guess it’s just my imagination but I’m just ready to get my period so I don’t have no accidents in public😅 So for those of you that were on birth control and got off how long did it take your cycle back?
