Changing baby name?

Husbands cousin recently had a baby. We’ve had the Name for our baby picked out already and that’s the name they chose for their baby’s middle name. She even went and got a tattoo of their child’s middle name on her arm.   Is it weird now if we stick to the name we have chosen?

My father's mother's name was Mary. All of his siblings and my sister have the middle or first name of one of their daughters as Mary. My cousin and sister both have daughters with the same first name. Myself, my cousin, and my second cousin all have my mom's mother's name as our middle name. None of it has been weird. Unless you are planning to live your entire life with his cousin and their baby goes by their middle name only, it's just a fun coincidence. If you do live together, just need a way to call one kid and not both!

Hmm.. her getting the middle name tatted kind of makes me think it must be relevant to her/them for a reason. Maybe you should figure this out first. For instance, I want Robin to be a part of my child's name, because it was my dad's name. (Well, it was his middle name and he went by Rob)... So, to be honest, I know I don't own this name, but I'd be sort of offended if my family/friend and their baby the same

If I was close to the cousin I would give them a heads up to not look like I was coping but I’m also a people pleaser and prefer to keep the drama to a minimum.
