My sister in law (17) at that time that happened. Her boyfriend (30) at that time that happened. They had sex without her parents knowing. My sister in law parents reported it to the police. What could happen to her husband now?

Depends on the state, honestly it would be considered statutory rape. But 17 is (or is older than) the legal age to consent so nothing probably will happen

Here age of consent is 16 but I know a lot of other states it is 18. Not sure what would happen... The parents would 110% need to be able to prove it or else nothing will happen to him. If they truly press charges, I think it's up to the judge. Possibly sex offender list for 15 years and maybe a bit of jail time/parole but that's worst case especially if it wasnt forced. But then again, depends on your states laws. What 30 yo would have sex with a 17 yo?!? Yuck
