How often should baby get hiccups?

I’m 34 weeks and my baby gets the hiccups a lot. Is this something I should worry about?

My daughter had the hiccups at least twice a day from 25 weeks to delivery. She was perfectly healthy and LOUD. So I believe that it really is just lung development

My second baby got them a lot wile i was pregnant. Often multiple times a day. He also had them more often as a new born and infant. Then as the months went by he got them less and leas often. Now at a year old I don’t even know the last time he had hiccups.
It doesn’t mean anything. I think wile pregnant I mentioned it to my midwife and she was just like “uh huh... some do that a lot. It’s cute.”   And I mentioned it to my pediatrition in passing later and he just shrugged.

How can you tell when a baby hiccups? I'm 20 weeks and just started feeling very small movements

If you have them for a long period of time, it warrants a call to your doctor. The cord could be compressed and they might want an ultrasound to check if pressure can be alleviated.

Mine had them daily sometimes multiple times per day and now that he’s born he gets them daily

Completely normal! My daughter had them a lot too! It’s good for their practice breathing and lung development!

I wouldn't,  pretty normal.  Means baby is practicing for breathing
