How will I know when I'm for sure in labor? Paranoid FTM

so I know some of y'all will think this is dumb, but how will I for sure know when it's time? What if I don't have consistent contractions ever and end up having my baby at home?! Idk I'm paranoid and I've been having menstrul like cramping and a lot of lightening the last few days but nothing is ever consistent. I'm 37 weeks today. I just want to know how I will know for sure haha! 😂
