CONVERTIBLE car seat(life saver!) graco has amazing ones for a great price. i think mine is called graco4ever and the rear-facing setting has a high weight limit so i’m not switching my son as long as possible!

bassinet or a portable travel bed(similar to docatot but wayyyyyyy cheaper like 30-40$ and it makes naps in the bed safe(only while they are a newborn or can roll over), naps anyways you want because they’ll get used to the bed and it comes with a lullaby, heartbeat sound and on/off nightlight that really helped in the beginning nursing in the middle of the night. I could put it in between me husband up high by our heads on the bed(we slept with separate sheets and didn’t use pillows). life saver for me

i used it the day i came home from the hospital. i was leaking 24/7 and and i didn’t want to pump in the beginning. so i’d use the haakaa on one boob and feed my little one on the other. it caught what would be wasted and only costs 25$ on amazon i bought two but you only really need one i just loved it so much i wanted another

not so much an essential but i still use it to this day and i put it on him every night after bath time so his skin doesn’t dry out. i thought it was great since in the beginning they shed their skin and it can get really dry really fast and lotion wasn’t helping him.

Swaddle(stretchy material are way better) they love being swaddled super duper tight in the beginning. it helps so that nap time isn’t ALWAYS on your chest. although you do want skin to skin

wrap!!!its perfect while they are tiny and you need to move around the house to use the bathroom, cook, clean, etc. plus they will fall asleep on you anyways lol

tip: if you’re giving birth at the hospital after any blood work, shots, etc. ask them for those bandaid wipe off cloths! they help SOOOO MUCH! taking bandaids off newborns can be a little scary in the beginning. also ask for nipple cream(put it on religiously and try to stay topless)
