Looking for some encouragement

I don’t have the closest relationship with my MIL but we do our best, that being said she’s an awful communicator.

She’s planning our baby shower, I’m due on June 16th, and she set the date for may 31st for the baby shower. That’s just 2 weeks away from my due date.

She is a member at a venue and only wants to do it there so she can use her discount which I understand.... but that’s just too close

And nobody cared to ask how I felt about it.....

I’m so worried about so many things

What if the baby comes early

What if I’m crazy uncomfortable and don’t want to mingle and party

What if I’m feeling super sick? (I’ve been pretty sick the whole pregnancy so far)

How can I count on the gifts to help us with only 2 weeks?!?

I’m terrified it’s too close and it seems it can’t be moved

My solution was to make it a no gifts event, which SUCKS because financially we need all the help we can get, and we really can’t afford to get EVERYTHING on our own. But we also can’t wait until 2 weeks before the baby comes to try and pull our lives together. WhAt do I do?!?!

Sincerely - a first time mom whose crying in the bathroom stressed at work. Help!
