Have you transitioned baby to their own room?

Question

Baby is still in her separate sleep space, but in our room. She is the lightest sleeper ever! Have you all transitioned? Should I wait until 1year like the AAP recommends?

Probably not until 18+ months, if we even have an extra room when we move. Currently we dont have a spare room but were hoping to move into a 3br this summer.

So I give my lil girl her naps in her crib during the day but she still sleeps in the room with us at night.

We did it right before she turned 6 months. It was hard and i miss hearing her little baby sleep noises but it is better for everyone. She sleeps better now. It was also important that my husband and i had our us time back.

Id do what you feel comfortable with but try and do it before a year. Otherwise they’ll get attached to being in there with you. My second I waited longer than my first (health reasons) and now she’s been in there for about a month and no issues. She loves her crib.

It's what you feel comfortable with. If you want to keep her in there for the full year, then you should :) I transitioned my son into his own room around 5 months. I wanted to go to 6 months with him in our room, but he was sleeping through the night so well from 3 months on..and would stir when my husband got up for work at 4am. And tip toeing around him was exhausting 😂 because he is a very light sleeper as well. He does great in his own room and we got our freedom back 🙌

We did it a few weeks after birth. None of us slept well in the same room, and I felt comfortable moving her to a crib in her room next to ours. A year seems crazy long to me! The risk of SIDS is really low after four months so there isn’t much of a risk.
