the school i go to is making eighth graders take the PSAT, with no preparation. didn’t even tell them  they were taking it until today. they take it on tuesday. is that normal?

the PSAT is really just another standardized test. except the PSAT doesn’t really mean anything. you get a score for it but it doesn’t impact your future, your schools in the future won’t look at your PSAT scores and judge you based on that. when i took the PSAT i didn’t have any preparation which is normal.

it’s pretty normal. that’s what happened to me both last year and this year. it sucks, but the PSAT doesn’t really matter until 11th grade, since that’s when they consider your score for scholarships. don’t stress about it too much, it’s just a measurement of where you are at the moment.
